The massively successful movie “The Greatest Showman” is apparently in the works to become a Broadway Musical. The film, which initially didn’t overly impress critics or reviewers, quickly turned into a success after its release late last year, surpassing $430 million at the US box-office.

Even though the hit movie was released back in December, the soundtrack still seems to be dominating the charts, placing itself at number one on the UK charts, and number seven on the Billboard top 200 album charts after an impressive 21 weeks.

Due to the musical’s popularity, especially for its soundtrack, it’s easy to see why a Broadway musical is being rumoured, and will undoubtedly grasp the attention of fans.

Hugh Jackman, who plays the lead character “PT Barnum”, formally stated to Forbes:

“There was a discussion at one point in the eight-year journey of this movie maybe going live at first (…) The musical really works live.”

After the album mirroring the record held by Adele’s album 21 for most consecutive weeks at number one in the UK album charts, it is no shock to understand why this possibility would be considered.
