WHITE FAN RECEIVES
BACKLASH AFTER USING
N-WORD ON STAGE
By David Walsh
22nd May 2018

A white fan attending a Kendrick Lamar gig received massive backlash after using the N-word on stage.
Lamar, who invited the fan on stage to perform one of his songs, stopped the woman after saying the word multiple times.
Clearly confused, the fan turned to Lamar saying “Am I not cool enough for you? What’s up bro?”
Whilst the crowd displayed their disgust towards the term being used, the rapper said to the woman “You gotta bleep one single word”, to which she responded “Oh, I’m sorry. Did I do it? (…) I’m so sorry, oh my god”.
Even though Lamar allowed the embarrassed fan to perform again, the crowd seemed to think of the act as being unforgivable, audibly disagreeing with his decision to let her sing a second time.
The woman went on to perform the song for a second time, however, with understandably less enthusiasm.
People have been split on Lamar’s actions, some stating that the word shouldn’t be in the song at all if he doesn’t want people to repeat it, whilst others agreed with the rapper and said that he did the right thing.
The fan has since deleted her Twitter and has not made a statement since the event.
