With nine albums under his belt, Eminem definitely has many songs that have the potential to go under the radar of casual fans. Our sub-manager, David Walsh, has compiled a list of ten underrated Eminem songs that you should definitely listen to if you haven't already!

10. No Love
Eminem’s reputation as a “rapper” with most of today’s society is a hit or miss, with some people thinking he is too aggressive or vulgar. However, whether you like him as an artist or not, I highly suggest you listen to this song. It speaks high volumes about how an individual got bullied throughout school but could only take so much before retaliation. Like everyone else, we can all only take so much! The lyrics are very personal to Eminem’s life, and many people feel like they can relate to the situation he raps about in this track.

9. Almost Famous
This single, off his not so popular album “Recovery”, explains how he felt on his rise to fame and how it makes no sense to him. As the album is called “Recovery”, the name of the song alone suggests his come-back into the limelight. The song tells us how close he is to the top of the music industry and how he is actually confused about how he ended up in that position in the first place.

8. Despicable
Again, off his album “Recovery”, this song is about how people in the media title him a despicable person due to his previous actions. The amazing flow, clever lyrics, and style of this song makes it one of his top 5 in my list of all-time favourite Eminem songs. In this track he grows a metaphorical ego and gives the individuals a reason to call him despicable.

7. Bully
Bully explains to the listener about how he is holding back all of his anger against an individual who we, as an outsider, do not know. He raps about how he acts and what he would do to this bully if he was to lash out. The song, again, deals with experiences that a lot of listeners can relate to, and along with this, you can hear the true emotion and anger within the vocals of this song, which makes it all the more powerful.

6. Rain Man
Rain Man is from one of Em’s biggest albums that most people have probably heard of, titled “Encore”. This single has only really seen the shadows, and is lyrically one of the better tracks he has ever written. Em, in a mocking tone, tells us about how he finds it offensive that society found him offensive. The fact this song is a blatant retaliation towards people within the media who try and ruin his name and reputation is inspiring and clearly displays that Eminem doesn’t care about their negativity.

5. One Shot Two Shot
This song is loosely based on an even that actually happened in Detroit in 2001, where a worker for a rival rapper snuck into an event Eminem was holding, and shot at the staff. The song solely targets this event in a funny/serious manner showing that the group of artists won’t stop because of this event. Again, the song is extremely powerful and shows Eminem’s own personal strength towards certain difficulties that he faces in his life.

4. Go To Sleep
One of his most vulgar, yet deep songs. Go To Sleep is what they call in the rap genre a “diss track”, in this case, to another artist named "Ja Rule”. This song goes to quite a personal level. Although this is a diss, this song is one of the greatest Eminem has ever released, with a fantastic beat and unbeatable flow.

3. Evil Deeds
As a huge Em fan, this is one of my top 3 songs ever. In the song, Em tells his mother he is sorry for everything he has done, and how he is sorry for being, in his words, an “evil spawn”. He tells us he’s apologizing but he’s unsure of what he has to apologize for, as he had a bad upbringing. Even though Eminem likes to focus on personal issues whilst writing his songs, I feel like this song in particular exposes a lot of weak points from his own character and life, and it is inspiring to know that he was willing to share all of this in order to create such a strong and meaningful track.

2. Run Rabbit Run
Eminem tells us how he feels he’s a menace to society as he is constantly called one by the media. He tells us how he’s trying to break out of this bubble and break down this wall society have shoved him under, as he disagrees with their opinion. This is one of his most underrated track to date and is definitely worth the listen from anybody, as it is targeted especially towards the people who have a negative opinion of him.

1. We're Back
This track tells us how Em and Obie Trice (who features on the song) is back after a break, and how nobody will stop or change Eminem’s previous success. This single is arguably the most underrated Eminem song, as the track is actually under Obie Trice’s name, with Eminem only named as a feature artist, which seems to confuse fans and listeners. Even though this song is featured on Eminem’s album, the fact Eminem is not the main artist has turned people off listening to the song, and therefore hasn’t received the attention it deserves.
